There He Was

There he was, with others.
Identity lost, among those bent.
Double bent over his exam sheet.
Scribbling whatnots
Answers he had learnt.
The previous night.
Over late burning lamps.
Promises of bright future
coaxing mother, stern father
his teacher-
All spoke of his tomorrow.
His today- his today he clung to yet.
He held his picket tight,
Heavy with cute little glass marbles,
Red ,blue and yellow.
Those lovable glass marble.
They made his childhood secure.
They were closer to his heart.
Those open grounds;
Those close contests;
Those winning rewards;
Those marbles he scored over his friends.
Those were his moments!
Those his marbles.
Those cute little lovable glass marbles,
Red , blue and yellow.
They were his today
The today he clung to yet.
