Theme: Desire

The Ulyssean Quest

Desire grows by the hour
Tension builds like Ulysses
The world moans in many voices,

Whether in Dublin or Ithaca
Let us live by Aristotelian purity
And do the Odyssean thing,

Do not tarry any longer
Remove the lace, cotton or the satin,
Unhook the dress and let it fall,

Let us drink life to the lees
And spill the honey
Mucilaginous, warm and exhausting.
