Theme: Love

Strange Love

You could ask for my life,
I would have given it without any hesitation.
But you settled on the trivial,
You wanted the pleasures of body not soul,
You could not understand the bliss of feeling whole.
The deal was easy for you,
The proximity you enjoyed,
The moments you admired,
Were but a torture for me.
I recall sitting by the side of my own body,
Reading the joy on your face,
Your delight pinched me harder,
It left me lonelier.
While you were rejoicing your victory,
While you were happy in my misery,
I was stunned by your confessions so wry,
That you now love me warmly.
