The Question

The wine is poured, the candles lit
The music softly plays
I slowly turn, there you stand
You take my breath away

The mood is set, the time is right
Silence fills the room
the question's there, I see it clear
You'll have an answer soon

I take your hand, look in your eyes
Then fall on bended knee
I ask you this, with all my heart
Will you spend your life with me

You try to speak, I touch your lips
There's more I need to say
You lift your hand, caress my face
You wipe my tears away

My tears are not of sadness, you see
But of my overwhelming love for you
A love that consumes me heart and soul
A love forever true

I kiss your lips, pull you close
I'm lost in your embrace
My heartbeat pounds, I hold my breath
I look up at your face

My eyes search yours, my heart now pleads
My future, your hands do hold
So please, tell me you'll grow old with me
I love you, baby, heart and soul.
