Is the unconditional metaphor
Of the divine.
We are messianic by nature
As we wait unconditionally
For something to happen.
Even when a situation is hopeless
We expect something to come about,
Something to occur.
We connect our expectation
With the passage of time and
Expect something will ensue.
Give me any structure and sign and
I will play the discourse
Of human expectation and fulfillment.
I can open a window of opportunity
For you where none exists,
But I demand obeisance. |
