Leave me alone and let me be
Life’s ragged claws write on my skin
Then draw blood
Smudging fantasies and
Drowning dreams,
Leave me alone to travel to eternity
In cloaks of anonymity
Through unknown hills
And astray tributaries
Marking my own territory,
Too much meddling will not do
Even for the sake of enlightenment
And for those grand ideas
That haunt me with promises
Of freedom and escape,
Release me into the dark night now
And let me soar above impossible worlds
In a speechless gesture of scars
Beyond the confusion of stars
Beyond galaxies,
Let me participate in my own desideratum
That understands physics and cartography
Psychology and ethnography
Through pulsing life
And let me not return again. |
