She gleans from life
What she procures
Learns from it,
All she endures
A mother's hands so tender and true
Gathers her children
Like petals they issue
Handle with care
Children she's given to mold
With blood, sweat and tears
All that she beholds
Happy moments
Sad ones bring tears
Anger at the pain they must endure
But learn from it, they must
To endure life's gauntlet
Plummeted,
To become precious gems
As they grow older, they see
What mother's done
Grateful for her guidance and
For her tenacity.
