Long and hard delved I into my pain
Went to its core over and again
Touched every point, sensitive and sore
Prodded them all gently, to the fore.
With every razor-sharp shard, sat I
Looked it squarely in the eye;
As it cut, wounded and bled me white
Not once did I let it hide from sight
From its calm center, all fury spent
Radiate healing beams, heaven-sent;
In their soft glow darkness turns to light
The intense pain leaves without a fight;
Sorrow’s binding fetters melt away
My spirit’s no longer in its sway! |
