"Listen!” I cried out,
But no one seemed to hear;
Will I be left all alone?
That's my only fear.
On my journey until today,
I've been there as a daughter, friend and guide;
But now, when my path's rocky,
No one's offering a ride.
The old woman's sitting on her chair all alone,
Trying to thread a needle;
She knows her time's up,
Yet, she can’t solve this riddle.
She's no one but me--many years from now,
The picture's crystal clear in my head;
We all live for ourselves,
"God, why did you make me different?” I said.
Still, I continue my journey,
Wishing for some light at the bend;
Hope is all I have left,
Maybe.......just maybe, I could change the end! |
