Theme: Romanticism

Silent Invitation

Will you come to me
when the sizzling sun sinks
deep in the cool waters
to douse his fire of desire,
as my sultry soul soars
on a fanciful flight
to sip the elixir of
inebriated evening!

Will you come to me
and step into my dreams
to paint my empty world in dazzling hues
with your magical brush
before darling dawn wakes up
from her deep slumber?

Will you come to me
riding on the diaphanous wings of love
when solitude becomes my sweetheart
in the sinful season of silence,
killing me softly with your wild whispers
while my pursed lips caress your name!

Will you come to me
when henna-hued morning
adorns your palm with orange sunshine
all day long,
till night turns into a blushing bride
as the moon kisses her boldly
in the palanquin of sparkling stars!

I will realize that you have accepted
my ‘silent invitation’
when I wander on the crossroads of paths of our love
where your fragrant footprints treaded softly
on withered rose petals,
that will now bloom again
as precious poignant poems,
and I’ll gather them softly
one and all
to treasure them in my heart’s vault!
