Theme: Illusion

Tapestry - Illusions

Illusions - by Shernaz

I wander through life
Looking for something;
Listening for a note musical,
Under the languor of my
Soporific existence…
I gloat I have found it; till
On a fateful day it strikes
Nothing is as it appears
So much is still amiss.

Illusions – by Avril

Am I just dreaming
the play in which I’m acting?
Life, a wondrous
yet oft fearful production
I see, I feel
I have a voice
But it is all so finite
No trace left
when I bow out.

Tapestry – by Shernaz and Avril

As I wander through life
am I just dreaming?
Nothing is as it appears
in the play in which I’m acting.

Under the languor of my
soporific existence,
life is a wondrous
yet oft fearful production.

Listening for a note musical
I see, I feel.
I gloat I have found it!
Yet my voice
keeps searching for something.

But, it is all so finite…

No trace will be left
and so much will be amiss
when I bow out
on one fateful day

Comment Thank you Ravinder. We hope we will get more constructive feedback from you and other readers on our future posts too. We are rather keen that this form should fire the imagination of more writers because it is challenging and fun.
