From the quiet splendor of my home
I step out into the enchanting light of sunset
Watch it dance to the tune of the swaying eucalyptus leaves.
The stage is set
The screen drawn
In comes the colorful rustic maiden
Looking out forlorn for her silent admirer
Emerge against the waning pink and grey hues of the setting sun.
She catches his dark silhouette
A tremor runs through from head to toe
She hides and waits to peep
Star eyed and startled
Watch him pass by.
Oh! He searched for me from the corner of his eye
Sat down square legged
A naughty smile of relief!
My frail wrinkled self
Lit up in symphony and delight!
