Prayag Ganga at Dawn

Setting Sun, Sangam.JPG

When you walk at dawn
In the delicate chill of Prayag and
Enter the temperate waters of the Ganga
She welcomes you in rejoice,
Kneads your feet with sand and
Washes the torpor of summer
To prepare you for the day.

She makes you conscious of
The frogs, crickets and the teals,
Riding her lapping waves
Makes you aware of
The honey melons and jujube,
The evanescent rain clouds,
The goats and cattle by her banks.

She slowly walks you away
From the raucous hurry of life,
The implacable exploitation of time,
Soothes your nerves
Takes away the canker from your heart
And replaces it with
The immaculate touch of the sublime.

Comment I am highly intrigued with this creation of yours. Therefore I am adopting it in my book for Kumbh of Allahabad. I will give your name too with the poem.
