I work on a high rise building in Christchurch
A striking view from my workstation
I lift my eyes over my laptop
One to rest my eyes the other to seek inspiration
The vastness of the view is beyond time and space
The swaying green beige leaves of spring
The soft blowing puff of air
Made be feel blessed
My subsequent quick look out into the skylight
Sent tremors up my spine
In disbelief what I perceived
Was nerve shattering!
The city’s tallest buildings rocked in gusty winds
Pipe lines sprouted water fountains
In slow motion I saw tallness envelope nothingness
The earthquake revisited
