Our country is witnessing the throes of an identity crisis
I as a citizen have no say in the matter
To fend for myself I have to find ways out to safety
Unaware of how secure life in another land will be
On the crossroad of mine and another
Heartbreaking no doubt as the nudge out is forced on
I stand on no man’s land and turn around
My wreathing heart beckons me back
On second thought I no longer belong to the land of my birth
The crossing so done I feel a sense of protection
In a land I will learn to live in With God in my heart as my luminous flame
I cascade into the rays of the rising sun
