After all the connect is between two hearts and minds
You crossed the threshold to unshackle my heart
You found me irresistible and held me high on love’s pedestal
As time goes by I am reminded of a line

I thought you were different Sad enough you are not
Like all others selfishness takes center stage
Its hurt is too harsh to wash
The scar is too deep to heal
As one door closes another opens
