2nd April,2011, Saturday, India was spellbound,
And Mumbai echoed “India India” sound,
When India won against Sri Lanka by six wickets,
It was one of the best World Cup of cricket,
And once again history repeated itself after 1983,
Washing away despair, setting our frustrations free,
The players made every minute count;
Our adrenaline rushed, the thrill did mount,
Now we feel so very proud of Team India,
After several nights of tension and insomnia!
An incredible breath taking 2011 World Cup,
Every single Indian’s collar is now up,
Our joint prayers and faith in God came true,
In sheer ecstasy we all are bleeding blue,
Three cheers for India, hip hip hooray,
Keep it up Team India is all I pray!
Hip hip hooray - childhood slogans when our school won a match. That spirit is back again in our country after a fairy tale World Cup victory. I join you, Rupradha to shout with you.
