Images

 As the setting sun
Melts below the horizon
Stars applaud in clusters

The product of pain
Is pleasure, and also
The fruit of patience

Within the heart of hearts
Prevails the truth
Unhidden from self

The dove so beautiful,
Woven with silken thread
Is happy in this prison of love

Between the lines
are lines that really go
Unread all the time.

Close your eyes
To see the boundary
Beyond it limits

The rays of the sun
Pierce through the darkness
To awaken the sleepy

Nature stirs and sighs
As light touches it
To wake the new day

To be very honest these very very old writings in my diary of 1995, May be that was the time of learning. Now we write in Hindi 5-7-5 meter. I shall be more than happy to know from you about haiku in English. If you can send me some and also the links I shall aapreciate

Comment Dear Devi, what is your criterion of haiku, I mean are these traditional or vanguard? What have been told to us by haiku experts all your poems (though very nice), I am afraid do not fall into haiku composition. There is no 'kigo' word. Secondly, haiku is a capture of a moment, it can be painted. All the same I leant a lot from your compositions.
