Of course, there is too much detail in nature
For quips such as the names amount to being:
The oak and birch, the floribunda, seeing
Which, are so simple in nomenclature,
The infinite subsume, as if to catch a
Glimpse; but the eye, a tool of imaging
Of concept, overrides, identifying
According to the human mind a matter
Of fact, and passes on; or if perhaps
Delays, scans the remorseless finitude
That trees and sky so revel in and stretch
To the verge of infinity; and taps
Unwittingly into a silent mood,
Out-stared by the Divine's corrosive etch. |
