What is life if it is not a projection
of the present in which it is forecast:
each act enactment, prior to the action,
integral to its context; and when past
proves thought, my thought, the future of the world,
my world, outlines: accordingly, I live,
and watch life, the thrust forward of heads hurled
along the paths of grounded schemes, to give
them credence, every one, as based upon
the permanence that constitutes the world,
but is no surer than the thought, and on
this lies; what if, as thoughts complete, the world
as thought completed be; and whence shall we
discern the time, the date, the end will be? |
