Home

My body, my only home,
by delusion I claim to be mine,
though it is your lay-out
and your artful design.

But I keep it neat,
light it by the sun at day time,
and by stars and moon at night.
I ventilate it
by morning prayers and evening chantings...

I do not have a gem-studded throne
befitting a royal guest like you,
but I have preserved a chair
knitted by threads of simple thoughts
riveted by bold nuts and bolts.

And I know
you shall visit me unannounced,
and therefore, in front of my home
I sit for ever with fresh water
to wash your lotus-feet,
new flowers to decorate your path
and have learnt a little poem
to sing in your praise.

I sit here days after days
waiting for you to lead me
'from darkness to light'
and delusion to delight!

Comment LINES OF A TRUE DEVOTEE-CERTAINLY YOUR WORDS ARE LIKE PETALS TO BE OFFERED -YOUR GODDESS MUST COME TO LEAD YOU TO LIGHT AND DELIGHT
A POEM RECOMMENDED TO BE A PRAYER-POEM FOR EVERYBODY HAD IT BEEN MORE RHYTHIMIC
