My Mother - Ganga Maiya

O! thou provider of life
thou epitome of our culture
serene, calm and pure
engulfs every medicinal plant within it
waters our mind and fields

O thou!  taketh all our sins
thou are not a river
thou are a culture, a mark of respect

Oh! what we are doing now
thou are not a thing of pleasure
thou are our treasure
kept from ages
Ganga, thou are our mother
