On the terrace I sat soaking up the morning sun when an enormous seagull came sat on the railing blocking the sun, and from its feathers seeped arctic air… .Frozen I was couldn´t move thought the ocean bird was going to pick me up fly me to the outer rocs and eat me for lunch. Instead it gulped up a fish that landed in my lap a lively life from the deep oceans, it had watery blues eyes.
With this the seabird took to wings and the sun warmed my bones. I boiled the fish, served it with boiled potatoes, butter, sweet carrots and peas. Later that day I found, in a flowerpot on the patio, two hatched eggs. Chicks, new life, it was my duty now to feed them fresh food from the sea.
