Theme: Memories

Born, Not to Die

I was born not to die,
Not to die like my brave India;
Want to live In the hearts of millions,
To live with millions.
Don’t cage me in ashes,
I am the fire Like the sun I’m unburnt;
I’m the torch For the torchbearers .
I said give blood;
They sucked blood.
I proclaimed liberty ;
They preached slavery Worldwide
Who betrayed blood?
Who says I’m a lost hero?
I fly In the breath of my fellow Indians
Up and around patrolling
Don’t bury me in crashes
Why do you mourn?
My biography unfinished
Like volumes of freedom
To write along
Pages of India
With gild and glory.

(Written in memory of great Indian patriot Subhash Chandra Bose whose death is not yet confirmed)
