It is not only the American
debt crisis that is shrouded in ‘a cloud
of doubt and uncertainty’; it is an
ongoing condition of our human
existence, to resolve which makes us proud.
Reason is a form of search for the truth;
nature shows reason in adapted forms,
as the distance of the sun from the earth,
the moon to draw the tides, and life in birth
in a myriad contexts, enshrined as norms.
But in the concourse of human debate,
in the name of reason are arguments
put forward; the ways to resolve the debt
crisis, a case in point, approach the date
of clarity, to decide what makes sense.
It is, after all, the mode of existence
that something emerges from the cloud -
be it atom, dust, star or planet - sense
is made from uncertainty, and from whence
it is caught up though proud as providence. |
