When we were in love, we were as two names
known, thus, we could not be separated,
and all love’s sweetness gathered as stated
our syllables, near or apart, two flames
yet single, withstanding with ease the games,
crosscurrents of opinions that rated
our fidelity as flawed, even as fated
to fail, and separated our two names.
How could the simple key to our true love,
the testimony in our two names, show
a rift, our love and kinship break in two,
as though sun and earth should split, and above,
God's Heaven itself be now eliminated;
two names remain, and we be separated. |
