I bow to so many Gods and Godesses
even though there is an occassional feeling
that God is inside.
It is man's creation to get strength
that nothing goes awry in life.
If it's one life,
then so much is at stake!
So I bow to Gods and Goddesses.
Though there are myths
connected with every Hindu God and Goddess
But can one pay supplication
to figures of stories!
Poor humans have no other option
but to bow before powers that are.
But the best supplication
is of course the Gayatri Mantra:
Oh God, you are the birth giver,
it is you who is the reliever of pain and grief,
it is you again who provide happiness.
Oh, the creator of this universe,
please provide us the insight
so that we refrain ourselves from sin.
And please see to it that our intelligence
walks through the right path.
When I bow to so many Gods and Godesses
it is actually variations of this Gayatri Mantra only
that I chant, recite, and speak in the form of prayer.
