While someone is fighting
With life against leukemia,
Someone is perplexed
After giving birth to a dead child,
Someone has to see her lover
Getting married right in front of her eyes,
Someone has lost his home
Because of a terrible earthquake,
Someone just got a divorce filed
After three years of mental unrest!
As I am observing all these
I wonder, is life this much painful?
Is everyone so very unhappy?
What’s next?
Who’s the next target?
At any moment it can be you
Who knows, it can be me too.
Life is so uncertain, so unpredictable,
One second can turn some joy into sorrow,
Not always are we heading to a better tomorrow!
We have to accept the things we can’t change,
We must change the things we can’t accept,
We should be ready at any point of life,
Should have enough courage to face whatever comes.
Life can’t be beautiful lifelong, can it be?
It’s our duty to minimize grief and double joys
By sharing joys and caring for the brokenhearted!

You are very right, Rupradha. Perhaps situations like these that look dreadful gave birth to a 'live' Buddha. Loved your poem that leads one from darkness to light.
