Many secrets have been withheld from man
from the beginning, but not that it should
matter; but he must live as best he can
by knowledge in the forms he understood.
It was given to him to realise
each fact, or life would be untenable;
what occurred, the evidence in his eyes
he retained, certain, not just probable.
According to this code, the generations
of man subsisted, though he might not know
belief was fallible; the faiths of nations
seen as political solutions now.
Now, indeed, is the celebration of
identity; things are named as perceived
to be; nothing of old has changed thereof -
