Theme: Relationship

Friends and Foes

We became foes at a point of time.
Obviously because of clash of interests.
One worked so hard at his work,
and the other ate all the cakes.
How can one keep his cool?
A time comes, when it pinches.
So when it did, I called him names,
I taunted him.
But nobody cared, for everybody has to keep his house in order.
I was left out.
I became bitter.
Then scriptures taught me not to look back.
A time passed is passed.
What you did, you did
because you could not do anything else,
that was how you have been made of,
what others got is not for you to grouse about.
I realised my fault.
I have to be wiser,
get rid of all bitterness.
Now all those whose help he took to corner me are his foes.
He is bitter about them all.
I am his friend now.
Strange are the ways of the world,
strange are its lessons.

Comment Whatever I want, is out of mistake
Wharever I get, I want not.
[Sharbaniranjan's poem seems to be consistent with the above observation of Tagore]
