The day when Mother arose out of the deep blue ocean! Bharatavarsha!
What sensation arose in the world, what devotion, Mother, what joy, Mother!
That day the flow of your radiance turned dense night to dawn;
All bowed, “Victory to Mother! World-savior! Word redeemer!”
Earth was blessed touching thy lotus feet;
Sang, “Victory to world-entrancing Mother! World-mother! Bharatavarsha!”
Garments wet, freshly bathed, locks lapped in Sindhu waves!
Glorious forehead, lotus-face agleam with brilliant laughter;
Above sun, stars, moon dance encircling;
Entranced, ocean waters roar gently foaming at your feet.
Earth was blessed touching thy lotus feet;
Sang, “Victory to world-entrancing Mother! World-mother! Bharatavarsha!”
Head crowned with snowy white crown, seas clothe hips,
Pearl necklace sways on breast—five rivers, Yamuna, Ganga.
At times, Mother, you are terribly bright in burning sands dry scenes;
At times laughing in green fields, spreading across the world.
Earth was blessed touching thy lotus feet;
Sang, “Victory to world-entrancing Mother! World-mother! Bharatavarsha!”
Above the winds howl ceaselessly in space,
Cooing of birds kiss your feet below,
Above clouds thunder lightning, raining a deluge—
At your feet groves and woods create fragrance of flowers!
Earth was blessed touching thy lotus feet;
Sang, “Victory to world-entrancing Mother! World-mother! Bharatavarsha!”
Mother, peace in your breast, freedom from fear in your voice,
Your hands give food, your feet gives freedom;
Mother! or your children so much pain, so much joy;
World nourisher! World redeemer! World Mother! Bharatavarsha!
Earth was blessed touching thy lotus feet;
Sang, “Victory to world-entrancing Mother! World-mother! Bharatavarsha!” |
