Theme: Belongingness

Leave Me Here

You cannot lure me
to go to your paradise
and be an honourable showpiece
in your backyard garden
...
I shall love instead to live
deeply attached to my earth,
walk in its dust to be pricked by thorns,
and play hide-and-seek with jolly kids
...
Sunrise and sunset I shall watch,
play kites to outwit the eagles,
cross rivers in small boats
and hear the boatman sing
...
Detachment is not my cup of tea,
leave me here on this earth, my lord!
attached to your lovely creation,
let your smile and grace my pleasaure be...

Comment Thank you, Rupradha for quoting the concluding paragraph. How can we be detached from 'morning lotus', chirrup of the birds, the clouds and all our loved ones?
