Theme: Life

Clever People Do Foolish Things

Life unravels mysteries
inconsequential
but of deep import
every now and then.
One learns that incremental corrective bit
charting one's life's course
that have the potential to go a long way
probably benefitting ones
in the telescoping progression
three sixty degrees
in the expanse of time.

To cite an example,
a certain one was warned
not to go for a certain match
for his ward, but not only
the match making was carried out,
in no time her brother too was married off
unwarranted.
In both the cases
the male grooms proved to be hopeless
and both the marriages were anulled.

In another case,
the lanky brown, bespectacled lady neighbour
and her husband
did not deem it fit to invite a neighbourhood acquaintance
in their son's marriage
arguably for probable hefty plate cost
at the reception party
forgetting natural neighbourly camaraderie,
little realising, relationship for the rest of the life
will be awkward
and might snap in due course
because of this one incident.
A relationship cheaper
than a plate cost of party!

Clever people do foolish things.
Doesn't life unfold mysteries
apparently inconsequential
but of deep import
every now and then?
