Theme: Bonding

A Poem for A Poem

Your childhood memories are lotus-buds in a pond
Talking with the sun, your father who taught you
The colours of life: the dark, the brown, the bright,
The gray and the green and how they change
On the road that connects school with home
And the hospital where your father was
Admitted to take rest before he
Uttered the final word of love and longing

You were alone in the house alone
With a body dead and the living undying soul
That walks with you untired in the journey of life,
Leaving the tired and worn out body, he was renewed
To guide you from time to time
As there is always a need of
A candle in darkness when the sun
Is taking rest behind the mountains

In the valley the candle endures
You remember all the past today
In the warmth of the candle
Giving homage to a departed soul
Who is always with you like
The breath even after death
