It came to him unexpectedly on
A train journey, the closure of what was
Another day, the rays of his bright sun
Extinguished; is the fate of each of us.
Beneath the veil of immortality
A life is lived as though to unveil it,
Escape the phase of temporality,
A life’s aspiration is built on it.
The world converted to eternal states
As foundation to lives that see no change
But change as renewal, that contemplates
No end, and in death itself no exchange.
The individual’s passage: in that concept
Are undertones of an eternal life,
To deny which, as many do in mind-set,
Is to deny - they but realise - life. |
