The Evening Time of Life

It is long time now,
I have lowered my gaze.

For such a long time
I would stare wide
to soak in everything
life around had to offer.

Perhaps in the evening of life
there arises a need to retrospect:
What was achieved
and what went wrong.

There is an uneasiness
so many things went wrong
because of the conditioning
that one of necessity has to go through.

They give you such a sinking feeling.

Lord Krishna says,
it is actually He who does everything;
and we think we do.

Jain Muni Shwetapichhaacharya says,
Pardon everybody in this world
and in the heaven,
including yourself.

It is long time now,
I have lowered my gaze.

It is Aarti time now in temples.
Some like Usha, the early morning time.
I always like evening time,
the dusk,
when temples get agog
with bells and lamps.

Now is the time when life's learning
will be accounted for
before I am ready
for next life-cycle!
