Theme: Lesson

Sweet as a Fruit

Banana.jpg

Early Thursday, I stopped the fruit vendor
to ask, 'Grapes are now cheaper,
will you prefer grapes to banana?'
'No,' was the quick answer,
'banana is a common fruit,
friend of the rich and the poor,
it grows in every season and in every region,
and is offered to gods of every religion.'

To me it was an eye-opener,
and soon realised
why the fruit seller is friendly to all,
loved by the rich and the poor,
loved by all the gods...
he carries soft smiles
without footwares, walks miles
returns home very late
and just caresses the baby
who has already slept.

Fruits that he sells, give him the lesson,
be sweet, for other's joys, be the reason!
