Rain

I am waiting for the muddy roads,
I am waiting for the wet lanes,
I am waiting for the murky clouds,
I am waiting for the monsoon rains.

I am waiting for that drop of water,
to trickle on my blushing face;
I am waiting for the dew drops
to glitter under the sunrays.

I am waiting for the new blossoms,
I am waiting to see the river drain,
I am waiting for the frosty cold wind,
I am waiting for the monsoon rains.
