You And I

Last night I had a wonderful dream.

It was a fresh dawn shining with gleam,

We were rowing in a lovely placid lake,

A beautiful journey we were to take;

We rowed amidst some swans so bright

In the crimson sun’s first sunlight!

The chirping of birds added more to it,

It was life’s most wonderful treat,

With no one around, just you and I,

Together in one boat under the azure sky!

Lost in the mystery of nature’s splendor,

It was love and life’s amazing blender,

You and I – two immaculate lovers,

That’s all what true love discovers.

Eyes in eyes so intensely fixed

Passion and desires, in them, mixed,

Sailing under the pristine cobalt sky,

It was our moment – just you and I.

It reminds me of Browning's 'The Last Ride Together'.

Hush! if you saw some western cloud
All billowy-bosom'd, over-bow'd
By many benedictions--sun's
And moon's and evening-star's at once--
And so, you, looking and loving best,
Conscious grew, your passion drew
Cloud, sunset, moonrise, star-shine too,
Down on you, near and yet more near,
Till flesh must fade for heaven was here!--
