Ravinder Malhotra is an Indian poet, writer, political analyst, painter and pianist.. He writes in three languages; English, Urdu and Hindi.
Born to upper middle class parents, Ravinder Malhotra grew up reading of the Holocaust post WW II and wrote his first poem at the age of thirteen. A sensitive person who tended to be a bit of a perfectionist, he was what many would consider a model son and student – popular & straight; A student, always winning the best prizes.
However, beneath the surface of his seeming perfection were some grave discontinuities, some of which probably were caused by the pain caused to him by human suffering arising out of oppression & opportunism born out of lust for money and power - "Wars", "The Witness", "Greed". Founded 'Poets of Delhi' in 2008; a platform for young and old poets.
Has read at various venues; India Habitat Centre, India International Centre, Residence of the Ambassador of Serbia, Portugal, Romania, Netherlands, French & Russian Cultural Centres, Kamla Nehru College, Siri fort Auditorium, American Centre etc among others.
A nature lover, he lives and works in New Delhi.
