Subin Mananthavady, a Kerala-based journalist, who writes in Malayalam, as well as English. Now he is working as an Assistant editor with DC books. He worked as a Correspondent with the Deccan Chronicle (Kozhikode unit) nearly three years. As a journalist he believe in the social responsibility of the media. Most of his reports have been on crime, social inequalities, land distribution, human rights, farmers’ problems, environment, business, lifestyle and films. He started writing and publishing articles during his college days, 12 years ago. More than 500 articles have been published so far in prominent Malayalam and English newspapers and weeklies.
He began his career with the Thejas Daily, in 2006 and was its correspondent at Kozhikode, Thrissur, Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Kottayam. Then he joined the Metro Vaartha daily in 2008 and worked as its correspondent in the Kochi bureau; there he was assigned lifestyle and film beats. After that he worked as the senior reporter in Kalakaumudi Weekly (Kochi).
He had his schooling at St. Joseph’s TTI, Fr.GKM high school, St Catherine’s higher secondary school, all in Mananthavady. He passed my B.A. in Functional English, with Journalism as a subsidiary subject from Mary Matha Arts And Science College, Mananthavady, under Kannur university.
