Welcome to my Experiments in Black and White. While young, I enjoyed sketching people around me. At school, I was notorious for making cartoons of my teachers. One of them even hoped that I would end up “only” as a cartoonist. Sure, I have been a cartoonist for a long time. Over 500 have appeared in print and I currently contribute to India-New England (MA), Pathram (NY) & Malayalam News (UAE) and other e-zines.
Professionally I am a Scientist involved in advancing materials for enabling energy technologies. I earned my Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-M). I am a recipient of the UNESCO Fellowship for Young Scientists and of Imperial College, London. I have authored over 75 scientific papers and hold over 12 patents.
I believe cartooning keeps me creative to be innovative in my relentless pursuit of excellence in R&D. Kerala Center (NY) honored me for my “Extraordinary combination of talents as an Outstanding Scientist and Gifted Cartoonist”. I am a founding and active member of Kerala Cartoonist Academy (KCA) and recently elected to Association of American Editorial Cartoonists (AAEC). Recently my entry tilted “Chemistry is Life and Everything” was one of the winners of the International Contest titled “Everything is Chemistry” conducted by European Chemical Society to celebrate 2011 as the International Year of Chemistry and sponsored by UNESCO & IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry). Born in Trissur (Kerala) I live with my wife, Rekha and daughters in Highlands Ranch, CO (Tel. 303-683-1102). My work can also be seen at http://DrawnOpinions.blogspot.com
