Gayatri Narayan grew up in Delhi. When she was at school at Welhams, Dehra Dun, she was initially very shy and couldn't connect with people. She read and wrote a lot even in her school notebooks. One day a teacher confiscated one of them and surprised her later when she said she liked her poems. She slowly learned to open up, began singing for the band and was active with athletics. She has now taken a break with academics as she finds a lot of problems with the way things are taught. She is now busy experimenting with life doing various things including writing. She wants to compensate for her studies by spending three years learning about life. Writing is one of them on her new journey.
