Born in 1973, Deepika has been an "achiever" with diverse experience in various media. A poetess by chance, a journalist by intent, and an academician by accident, she has to her credit many achievements in one life time.
She graduated with honors from a prestigious college in New Delhi, India. The subject of her pursuit was English Literature. Having completed her Masters and M.Phil. as well in the subject, she taught English Literature in many colleges in New Delhi.
Her first and foremost interest has been in writing. She has written extensively on various issues - environmental, women's, cultural, social, sociological and political as well. She has traveled extensively around the world, writing travel features.
Deepika has also published a book of poems. The theme of the book was "relationships" and despite her young age, she brought a surprising profundity to a difficult theme.
Deepika has also delved into screenplay, and script writing for television. One of her shows won a nomination for the most respected Television award in India - the Onida Pinnacle awards.
