Shayantika Chakraborty, an Assistant Professor of English Literature in M.K.M Group of Colleges, (M.D.UNIVERSITY) has composed short collection of Poetry under the title "BODY AND SOUL". This Bengali poet born in Behala, Kolkata has done B.A (hons) English and M.A in English Literature. She is Prabhakar (graduate) in Classical Music (vocal) from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. "BODY AND SOUL" deals with materialism as well as spiritualism in humans' counter part. Voice of feminism and prostitution upholds a thematic concept. Lover's body and soul has been amalgamated to create the sense of eroticism. Imagery of birds as well comparing them with humans has captured a lot of attention. The poems include concepts of Greek Mythology. Literary device has been used to give the musical effect.
