Duni Chand Chambial (b. 1950) hails from the Himalayan region. A very enthusiastic student, he went on acquiring academic degrees one after another. Originally a Science student, he shifted to Arts, perhaps because of his sustained fascination for Man and Nature. The physical proximity to hills and peaks, to the snows and showers conditioned his imagination and sharpened his powers of intuition. He is a poet on high altitude, poised between Kargil (scene of a recent war) and Dharmashala.(the Abode of Peace and Dalai Lama). Quest for knowledge and constant efforts to envision and imagine, sharpen the intellect and lead to ripeness.
