Retired Senior Executive of American Express Bank; begun my career as a teacher in English in one of the most reputed residential institutions in West Bengal, India way back in 1970. And this interest in learning, in literature, culture, history and other humanities subjects I had kept alive - by bringing out house magazines, souvenirs for the recreation clubs, organising cultural functions, exhibitions, public speaking so on and so forth.
In 2009, after retirement, started researching seriously on the life and works of Sir Rajendranath Mookerjee (23/06/1854 -15/05/1936), the foremost successful industrialist in Bengal, an enterprising entrepreneur, one who made history when the company, Martin & Co.- of which he was the Senior Partner - could finish constructining the Victoria Memorial in 1921 and was awarded the knighthood.
