Devender Singh Aswal is a former Addl Secretary. Lok Sabha, House of the People Secretariat, Parliament of India. After servicing the Parliament of India for over three decades and half, he superannuated in 2017. He joined the bar and is now a Delhi based practicing Advocate and a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association. His areas of engagements as a lawyer are- constitutional law, arbitration, dispute resolution, mediation and conciliation.
He has been contributing articles on constitutional, contemporary and public policy matters to The Indian Express, The Tribune, The Pioneer, The Daily Guardian, The Statesman, The Hindustan (Hindi) and Amar Ujala (Hindi) dailies apart from many regional newspapers and journals, like India Legal and The Parliamentarian, published from London. He has also participated as a subject expert on many news channels.
His published work include- ‘Central Hall to Great Hall’- a travelogue, ‘Parliamentary Questions: Glorious Beginning to an Uncertain Future’, published by Orange Books International and ‘The Indian Parliament: Beyond the seal and signature of Democracy’, published by LexisNexis. A second relaunch of the ‘Indian Parliament’ has been planned by LexisNexis in view of many new constitutional and parliamentary developments. |
